
Maine Oceanfront Group Functions
Groups Welcome at the Ocean Point Inn
We welcome groups to the Ocean Point Inn and are happy to assist you
with your group function, rehearsal dinner and wedding reception plans.
As we have unique facilities, group functions can disrupt our other
guests’ enjoyment. For the benefit of all, there are many times we have
additional lodging requirements and/or minimum group purchases. We are
also open to "Resort Takeover" events so that your group can enjoy
exclusive use of our resort.
Oceanfront Inn: We have 3 separate dining areas in the
Inn: Upper Deck, Lower Deck, On the Rocks plus the Library for
cocktails. The maximum size function we can accommodate in these 3 rooms
for a sit down dinner is 102 Guests. During peak summer, due to concerns
for our in- house guests, the only way we can accommodate a group this
size would be if the group also commits to renting all (or the majority)
of our rooms for at least 2-nights.
Tent Weddings: We have space on our grounds to
accommodate Tents for outside Tent weddings of up to 150 people. As
these tents impede the view or may be disruptive to our other in-house
guests, tent weddings also require you to rent all (or the majority) of
our rooms for at least 2-nights. In addition to your minimum OPI Food
and Beverage and tent rental, OPI requires facility fees for Tents.
Mix and Match: Combinations of indoor and outdoor space
allow brides to match the flow of the celebration and take advantage of
the best backdrops for different activities. Maybe you want photos by
the water, the wedding ceremony on the ocean, drinks and appetizers in
the Library, and dinner in the Oceanfront Inn or under an elegant tent.
"On the Rocks Private Room": This room can accommodate
private groups of up to 45 Guests. Group guests wishing to reserve this
private room are often required to rent the 7 guest rooms in the
Oceanfront Inn for at least 2-nights. The Minimum Food and Beverage Fee
to reserve this room privately is $1,500.
Daytime Groups and Luncheons: As we are generally not
open to the public for lunch it is not generally a disruption to our in-house guests, so we are delighted to accommodate groups for luncheons or
afternoon functions such as receptions, weekly lunches or meetings, in
any portion of our dining room from 11:30AM until 3:30PM. Lunch groups
of less than 25 people will require a room charge and minimum food
orders may be required.
Food and Menus: Parties of 16 or fewer may order off of
the menu (though a limited menu may expedite your groups service).
Groups of 17 - 45 will select from 3 items chosen by you and our Chef
prior to the event. Groups of 46 or more will select from 2 items chosen
by you and our Chef prior to the event. For groups of 17 or more advance
counts of each item are required.
Alcoholic Beverages: No alcohol is ever included in
food prices and is always billed separately. Sorry but due to Maine
State law under no circumstances may alcohol be brought onto the
premises. All alcohol on the Ocean Point Inn grounds must be purchase
via OPI.
Outside Food: We must be made aware at the time you
make your reservation if you plan on bringing any outside food (such as
a cake or special dessert) into the restaurant. If approved there will
be a plating charge ($2.25 per plate) for this service which is due in
advance of the event. In addition, sanitation rules prohibit homemade
cakes or desserts. We are happy to work with any number of local
providers to accommodate your wishes.
Cocktails: If you wish to make use of the Oceanfront
Library Room for cocktails before or after dinner, there is a $100.00
set up fee for the room which may be reserved for up to 90 minutes.
Additional time will be booked in advance at the rate of $45.00 per half
hour.

*Price will vary based upon size of tent, dance floor and lighting
preferences. You may contact outside vendors directly for these items.
Our staff will be happy to meet with them and discuss the layout of our
facility, any restrictions vis-à-vis electrical load, and the like.
In the event of tent rental, it will be necessary to rent the guest
rooms that will have obstructed views due to the tent location
(generally for at least a day prior and after the event as well). We
will be happy to meet with you on site to make those determinations.
Ocean Point Inn management reserves the right to make all final
decisions on placement of the tent. Weather conditions will require that
we consider the safety and comfort of guests and staff. Threat of rain,
wind, thunderstorm, and lightning will be taken into consideration in
making the final decision.

**"Minimum Total Charges" includes facility fee, food, beverage, and set
up fees. Overnight guest rooms, rental charges, tax and service charges
are NOT included in "Minimum Total Charges."
If you have a smaller event in mind, please ask about available dates and
pricing!
Maine State Lodging and Meals Tax: All rates are
subject to 7% Maine State Lodging and Meals Tax.
Gratuities: An automatic gratuity of 18% will be added
to all group functions.
Misc: Bill splitting may only be done by prior
arrangement, and not at the time of the event. As mentioned, many group
events require minimum purchases of F&B and/or rooms.
Group Room Rates and Room Blocks: We welcome overnight
group guests and depending upon the time of year may offer special rates
for groups booking 10 or more rooms. Please
contact the Innkeeper if you are interested in inquiring about group
room rates.
In the event that you have not booked the guest rooms in the Inn
building, an after dinner function may extend no later than 10:00PM.
